Ola guys, Quick question about Audio-quality and bitrates: Everybody says converting youtube videos to mp3s suck for mixing, because it's never 320 kbps (minimum for decent quality on bigger speakers).

Although the one on the right has content above 16 kHz, that very abrupt change at that frequency, along with the similarity to the same cutoff in the one on the left, suggests to me that everything above 16 kHz is noise in both of them.

A spectrum analyzer is a measurement tool that displays real-time frequency analysis of incoming audio signals, displaying them as a waveform graph. That's what the program does. Spek is also the Dutch word for bacon. So the icon is a pig.

Spek seems good to me, but from experience it is not as accurate as Fakin the funk, sometimes it can't detect well the real quality of the tracks, but for being free, I can't complain. I have been using the trial version of Fakin the funk when I was in doubt after analysing some tracks with Spek.

Hello all. I was looking around for useful apps/programs for library management and came across Spek.cc. This tool looks really handy for analyzing some of the questionable songs to see what the actual bitrate is. The app was last updated years ago and doesn't run in the latest MacOS version.
